Viewed Wins Melbourne Cup
It was a photo finish in the Melbourne Cup race this afternoon with the favourites, Mad Rush and Septimus both missing out.
However it was a dream race for Horse Number 10, Viewed, a mare from Australia which was ridden by 21 year old jockey, Blake Shinn.
Viewed has won the 5.5 million Australian dollar Melbourne Cup prize with Bauer in second and C'est La Guerre in third. Viewed survived a desperate photo finish to give master trainer, Bart Cummings his 12th Melbourne Cup.
Viewed, ridden by Blake Shinn, just outlasted a spirited final burst from Bauer with C'est La Guerre third.
Coming from midfield, Shinn said Viewed opened up a big lead in the straight before Bauer launched a late bid to be beaten by the narrowest margin.
It was Bart Cummings first Melbourne Cup win since Rogan Josh in 1999.
