The two Vietnamese fishermen from the Vessel "Ben" were handed a nine months jail sentence suspended for 18 months after they pleaded guilty to 2 counts of act with intent to cause grievous harm.

31 year old Hu Ven Thong and 32 year old Nguen Hong appeared before Chief Magistrate Ajmal Gulab Khan today.

They admitted their offence and said they were sorry and regretted what they did after they stabbed two other crew members on the 10th of this month after a scuffle.

This afternoon the Chief Magistrate said both are convicted on their own guilty plea for using a kitchen knife and a scissors to stab their crew members however he considered their guilty plea and both would like to reconcile when they return to the vessel.
