Germany Under-20 soccer coach, Frank Wormuth said victory in their opening FIFA Under 20 World Cup match against Fiji is an absolute must.
He is determined to see his side top Group F that also contain Honduras and Uzbekistan.
Wormuth said he will be coming to Fiji for two to three weeks to observe the islands.
He has no experience of Fiji football or the Fiji Islands itself but Wormuth said they must start as favourite in this group.
Most of the players in the Germany Under 20 soccer team are from Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica who are top clubs in Europe.
Wormuth is not sure what to expect from Fiji but reiterated his expectation of meeting an opponent worthy of regard.
He said they respect everybody they play against and their aim is to enjoy that first game.
However, he stressed that they are Germany and they want to win.
Meanwhile, the Technical Advisor of the Vodafone Fiji Under 20 soccer team, Frank Farina said they are going in as infants in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup and they can hold their heads high if they can get some credible results.
The FIFA Under 20 World Cup will be played in New Zealand from 30th May till 20th June this year.
