The Minister for Works has called an urgent meeting between the owners of the vessel Sandy and FIMSA this hour, to iron out issues as to why the vessel was escorted back to the Narain Jetty on Tuesday.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Media Liaison Officer for Works, Sainiana Waqanabete also revealed that the Interim Minister has demanded that reason be given to him, as the lives of the public and passengers on board were put at risk.

The vessel was escorted back to the jetty by two naval boats on Tuesday afternoon. FIMSA had revealed that the boat had not been passed as seaworthy.
