He has tasted victory in local and international tournaments and is now making a comeback in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team for the Gold Coast 7s this weekend.

Jasa Veremalua, who is the former Red Rock captain, will be one of the players to watch after missing a few tournaments last season because of injuries.

Coach Ben Ryan had earlier stated that Veremalua was one of the players who stood out from the rest of the players during their trials especially with his experience and skills.

He made his debut in the World Series in Wellington last year and has never looked back.

Meanwhile, playmaker Emosi Mulevoro and Eminoni Nasilasila have been ruled out due to injuries.

The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that Jerry Tuwai and Vatemo Ravouvou have been selected as the replacement players.

Fiji last won the Gold Coast 7s title in 2012 after beating New Zealand in the final.

Fiji is pooled with Scotland, Portugal and Australia in the Gold Coast 7s. 

Fiji will take on Scotland in their first match at 2.02pm Saturday.

We will then face Portugal at 5.23pm before taking on Australia at 9.01pm Saturday.

The quarterfinals will be at 12.48pm Sunday, the semifinals will kick off at 4.53pm while the final will be held at 7.49pm.
