Vodafone Fiji 7s player Jasa Veremalua said he is in the best shape ever as we head into the NZ 7s this weekend.

Veremalua said after being out of action for months, he has been working hard in getting back to shape.

The former Red Rock captain scored the winning try for Fiji during the Gold Coast 7s last year but missed the Dubai 7s due to an injury.

Veremalua also said they have been working on their defence and perfecting their running lines ahead of the New Zealand 7s.

The former Saint Thomas High School student added he has faith in the selected players to do their job on and off the field.

The New Zealand 7s kicks off this Friday and Fiji will play Portugal at 12.03pm, face Wales at 2.58pm before taking on Australia at 5.54pm in their last pool game.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 12.28pm Saturday, the Cup semifinals will be at 4.12pm while the Cup final kicks off at 7.55pm Saturday.

Fiji is currently in second place with 51 points on the HSBC Seven series points table.

South Africa is leading with 59 points while New Zealand is in third place with 47 points. Australia is in fourth place with 46 points.
