Former Suva Grammar School's athletics champion Niko Verekauta is on the verge of qualifying for this year's Olympics in Beijing.
Verekauta is training in Eurupe and will compete in a few internationals, trying to achieve the qualifying time.
Athletics Fiji official, Paul Yee said they have high hopes that Verekauta will make it to Beijing in August.
Meanwhile Makelesi Bulikiobo is the only athlete so far to have qualified for the Olympics.
