Verekauta, Bulikiobo wins 2nd gold
Verekauta came home first in a time of 48.83 seconds while team mate Osea Dasalusalu won the bronze medal.
In the 400 metre womens final - Makelesi Bulikiobo won gold, silver went to Paulini Korowaqa and bronze to Makitalena Lokolokobuka.
In the mens long jump Fiji won another bronze medal to Ernest Petueli.
Also Lesley Copeland won his javelin event.
Copeland threw a distance of 74.98 metres while his New Caledonian opponent came in second with a throw of 63.32 metres.
In the 1500 metres final Varasiko Tomeru won bronze.
The highlight of this afternoon in the 200 metre heats Banuve Tabakaucoro recorded the fastest time of 22.10 seconds while Tevita Nalovo's time stands at 22.28 seconds.
Niko Verekauta did not have any trouble winning his heat in a time of 22.53 seconds.
Meanwhile in canoeing Fiji qualified in all of the 6 finals but they only managed a silver and two bronze medals. Natalia Evans won silver in the V-1 Woman 500 metre final while Mario Mau-sio finished on 3rd place in the V-1 Men 500 metre final.
Fiji's second bronze medal came in the V-6 Men 500 metre final.
Also this afternoon the netball team qualified to the semifinal after beating Tokelau 57-27.
In other results the womens touch rugby team lost to Niue 6-5 but the men side came away with a close 5-4 win.
Looking at the medal tally Fiji still leads with 8 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze. Solomon Islands is at second place with 3 gold while Tonga at 3rd spot with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
