A soldier charged with the alleged Murder of Nakelo villager, Nimilote Verebasaga appeared in the Nausori Magistrates court this morning.
No plea was taken when Maika Vuniwawa appeared before Magistrate Vani Ravono this morning.
Vuniwawa has been released on a bail of $1000 and his case has been referred to the Suva High Court. He will appear on the 30th of this month in the High Court.
David Toganivalu appeared for the state.
Vuniwawa is alleged to have taken Verebasaga from his home in Nakelo to the military barracks in December last year.
It is alleged that Vuniwawa then assaulted Verebasaga to death.
A post mortem report revealed that Verebasaga died from brain hemorrhage.
