The murder trial of Nakaulevu villager, Nimilote Verebasaga continues this morning in the Suva High court after a ruling yesterday by Justice Daniel Gounder that the soldier involved, Malakai Vuniwawa would not be covered by immunity.

This decision was made as immunity only covers the removal of officials from government.

Five witnesses took the stand yesterday were cross examined by the State Counsel, Viliame Kurisaqila.

Verebasaga's older brother Vatimio Liganisulu recalled that on the 5th of January, 2007 at 5.30am two soldiers holding guns, and wearing green uniforms knocked on his door in search of his brother. He told the court that soon after Verebasaga was driven away by the soldiers in a rental car.

The case continues at 10am this morning before Justice Daniel Gounder.
