The Land Transport Authority will be clamping down on vehicles that are caught emitting smoke during a month long campaign.
Media Liaison Officer Ratu Eroni Volavola said smoke pollution is not only a big problem in Fiji but a global problem, and the reason they have adopted this month long campaign is to also create awareness on the harm of having the smoke in the atmosphere.
Volavola said people often do not realise just how hazardous it really is.
The month long campaign will start tomorrow and ends on the 16th of May.
