The newly appointed Interim Minister responsible for Fiji's Fire and Rescue Service said he will look into matters relating to water and fire hydrants.
While visiting the National Fire Authority headquarters at Walu Bay today, Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi said that a lack of fire hydrants has been a serious concern over the past years.
Vayeshnoi added that the NFA board has made a proposal to cabinet for allocation of funds to install more hydrants, which would soon be looked into.
Vayeshnoi also added that there are plans to relocate the Suva Fire Station and the Head Quarters to a safer zone as the Walu Bay area is prone to earthquakes and the relocation would mean better services for the people of Fiji as a whole.
