Interim Minister for Education, Netani Sukanaivalu said cabinet is aware of the plight of the Vatukoula Community and they are working with other ministries to assist the needy families after the closure of the mine.
Sukanaivalu said certain amount of funds will be used from the Ministry of Education to help the students whose families do not have money for their lunch and pay their bus fares.
He has also asked the people to come forward and help these unfortunate students.
