The Vatukoula 7s is the richest event in the history of sports in Fiji with a purse of $85,000.
What makes it more interesting is the 24 participating teams are handpicked by the organizers from around Fiji to battle it out in the two day tournament.
Defending champions Red Rock who walked away with $35,000 last year are one of the teams being eyed by the organizers along with Army Green, Wardens, Samurai Barracudas, Ratu Filise and Police.
Competition Organiser Lemeki Rasiga said even the losing quarter finalists will walk away with $1,500 while the main winner will get $40,000.
Rasiga added there will some competition for women and kids as well.
The Vatukolua 7s kicks off next weekend at Theodore Park.
