More students in Vatukoula now need assistance following the $100,000 worth of assistance provided by Save the Children Fiji.
Fund's Chief Executive Chandra Shekhar said they had a total of $112,000 which they used in 2 phases to see that children affected due to the closure of the Vatukuola gold mine are able to go to school until the end of this year.
He said they are getting very good feedback from the schools.
The Fund gave $52,703 to Toko Bhartiye School, Vatukoula Primary, Vatukoula Convent, Vatukoula Arya Samaja Primary, Nilsen High, Balata Primary and Balata High School.
Shekhar said this assistance is for another 5 week period and they do not have any more money to assist schools however, they are currently talking to the donor agencies to secure more funds.
