The Vanuatu Foreign Minister has shown its support for Fiji and is asking for the ACP Council and EU assistance.

At the 89th ACP Council of Ministers meeting which opened today in Brussels, Vanuatu Foreign Minister Bakoa Kaltongga called on the Council and the EU for assistance to Fiji in her endeavors to bring about a lasting resolution to the political situation.

Kaltonnga also called for their support to Fiji in the implementation of the necessary reforms for the welfare and economic wellbeing of the Fiji people.

Fiji's delegation to the meeting in Brussels is headed by Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama who also used his time there to highlight that the abrogation of the Constitution by the President was considered necessary in the difficult situation Fiji was faced with on 10th April.
