Police have arrested and charged a 27 year old van driver of Nasinu for allegedly causing the death of a 56 year old Kalabu villager on Tuesday evening.
Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri has confirmed the driver was charged last night and will appear in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
It is alleged the driver was speeding on Laqere Bridge when the vehicle he was driving went into the wrong lane and hit the victim who was standing beside the road.
The villager was rushed to the CWM hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The post mortem report stated that he died due to serious head injuries.
