From the hills of Naitasiri to France - and this weekend to Prince Chichibu Stadium in Japan.

Fiji born Virimi Vakatawa is living his dream of playing for France in the Japan 7s tournament.

Speaking to Fijivillage from Tokyo, Vakatawa said he is ready to prove himself.

The former Nasinu Secondary School student is confident his team is capable of achieving better results in the tournament.

Vakatawa currently plays as a wing for Racing Metro in France and has been drafted into the team as a forward.

With speed to burn and the ability to break through tackles, the 22 year old will be one of the new players to watch in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team will play France this Saturday at 1pm in their first Japan 7s match.

They will then play USA at 4:18pm and Samoa at 8:52pm.
