The government is now relooking at posts left vacant since the implementation of the retirement policy under the civil service restructure.

In a press statement, PSC Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi said the initial surveys have been completed however a new study will be done in the new year to address the issue of duplication.

According to Serulagilagi, the study of the posts will look at reclassifying or regrouping the roles or duties between ministries, appropriate salary scales for each grade in the civil service as well as a performance identification of increments for the different civil servant classes.

The new study is expected to be carried out next year however in the meantime civil servants are undergoing training.
