The Works Ministry said the general public should utilize their Contact Centre and call in their concerns regarding any issues about their operations.
Works Ministry spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said that is the main reason why they had initially set up the Contact Centre and if anyone finds a site where their PWD workers were at and sees that work has been left uncompleted which poses some sort of threat to public safety, then they should call them immediately.
Waqainabete had also highlighted that overtime for PWD workers will only be granted after careful assessment of the urgency of the project being carried out.
This was in light of concerns raised of unfinished road repair works left overnight, as workers would leave the site claiming that they will not be paid beyond their normal working hours.
Waqainabete said the onus is on the supervisor to ensure proper sinage is put in place to inform the public about the unfinished work.
