Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information Neumi Leweni said that with the Public Emergency Regulation (PER) in place, news directors and journalist should draw the line when it comes to stories regarding Fiji.
However, when asked to elaborate what it means to have balanced stories that have no negativity, this is what Major Leweni said.
This comes after concerns were raised by the Fiji Media Council on the presence of Ministry of Information Officers and Police officers at media outlets.
Major Leweni said that what chairman Daryl Tarte should realize is the PER is already in place and a meeting would be fruitless. He stresses that the PER is the Law at the moment and is binding.
