These are the words of Pacific Centre for Public Integrity Director Angie Heffernan who refers to the People's Charter and said that the proposed Charter is an attempt by an illegal regime to predetermine the outcomes of the next election.

In a statement released, PCPI states that they are very surprised to hear reference to widespread consultation for the Charter, as widespread public support does not mean less than 70 public submissions.

PCPI is urging all citizens of Fiji to rally behind those who work for a return to democracy adding that we can all play a part in helping restore Fiji back to having an elected civilian government.

Heffernan has called on the citizens of Fiji, particularly the provincial councils, religious organisations, private sector and civil society to reject the military regime's Citizens Charter, stating that the only Charter for Fiji is the Constitution and initiatives should be within the framework of the Constitution.
