Fiji Trades Union Congress President, Daniel Urai has been granted bail by Magistrate Thushara Rajasinghe in the last hour with strict conditions.
Urai is charged with urging political violence and inciting antagonism against the Fijian Government.
State Counsel, Ilisapeci Whippy made a submission that a curfew should be in place while the accused is on bail. Defence Counsel Navinesh Nand told the court that his client lives in Lautoka and works in Nadi and has two strong sureties.
This was granted by the court.
Magistrate Rajasinghe ruled that the accused follow a curfew from 8pm to 6am and to remain at his home in Banaras, Lautoka.
Urai is to report to the Lautoka Police station and he should not re-offend.
Urai has two sureties namely Attar Singh and Agni Deo Singh.
Nand told the court that the State should provide disclosures so he can sight it before a plea is taken by Urai.
Whippy said the disclosures should be ready in two weeks time.
The case is adjourned to the 29th of this month.
