Upsets mark Lawaqa 7s
The second national 7s team, the Digicel Warriors recorded their first defeat, going down to Lautoka 1 21-14.
The team laced with experienced players like Kelemedi Bola, Jerry Burotu, Watisoni Votu, Pio Tuwai and Mitieli Nacagilevu were beaten by a virtually young team.
Apart from the loss, the Digicel Warriors also copped disciplinary actions with Bola being handed a yellow card for a high tackle and Nacagilevu copping a red card for obstruction and a dangerous tackle.
In Other results, the other national 7s team the Digicel Barbarians are through to the quarter finals after winning their two pool games: 48-nil against Vatukoula and 36-nil against Nadrowai.
In other games, defending Fiji TV/FRU champions Namosi 1 beat Lautoka 2 17-12.
The games are currently underway in Lawaqa Park.
