Upset marked the opening pool game of the Vatukoula 7s this morning with top seeded team suffering defeat.

A unknown Western Force side created the first upset after beating a star studded Samurai Barracudas who won the Nawaka 7s 15 12 in its opening match this morning.

Samurai had the likes of former national 7s reps Pio Tuwai, Orisi Sareki and Nasoni Roko could not find their rhythm against the Force team.

In other results, Marist 7s winner Army Green playing without captain Dale Tonawai was held to a 7-7 draw by Hydro while Ratu Filise suffered a 10-0 lost to Wardens Green.

Red Rock boosted with the inclusion of dropped national 7s squad member Peni Gaunimeke and Varinava Are beat Western Drifters 24-5.

Pool Games continue this afternoon in Theodore Park in Vatukoula.
