Labasa Mayor Dr. Pradeep Singh has confirmed that the interim government has assured them that they will give priority to upgrade roads in the Northern division.
Singh said government is looking for funds to carry out the upgrade works.
Singh adds that interim government will also assist business houses in the North to get soft loans from commercial banks to boost their businesses.
Meanwhile, Acting Commissioner Northern, Inia Seruiratu has refused to reveal details of the talks between him and the interim PM during his visits saying the interim government should reveals the purpose of its visit to the North.
The Interim Prime Minister led a delegation on the two day visit to the North on Thursday.
