We cannot expect children to safely cross the road on their own.

These are the words of Police Spokesperson Fred Elbourne who has raised concern on the number of unsupervised children getting involved in accidents.

According to Elbourne, a five year old boy lost his life in Lami last week after he ran across the road and was hit by a vehicle, an unsupervised boy is in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Raiwaqa on Tuesday afternoon and a boy was hit by a vehicle in Makoi yesterday afternoon.

Elbourne sys it is everyone's responsibility to ensure that children are safe on the roads.
