The Viti Taukei Workers Union and the Public Employees Union will call off their strike from this afternoon.
At a press Conference in the last hour, FICTU General Secretary, Attar Singh has confirmed that the strike has been called off, effective from 4.30pm today.
Singh adds that it is useless to continue striking if the Interim Labour Minister, Bernadette Rounds Ganilau refuses to refer the industrial action to compulsory arbitration.
Singh adds this has never been done before in the Fiji's industrial relations history.
Singh adds they will now take legal action against the interim administration.
