With less than 31 hours remaining for members of the Fiji Nurses Association to walk off their jobs, the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune stresses that the unions should be content with whatever they have been offered by the Interim Government.
Speaking to Village News this afternoon, Bune said the interim government has done all they can to accommodate the union’s demands.
Bune also said the unions involved in the strike action are not being reasonable and are not sticking to the initial demands they had earlier made.
However, the Fiji Nurses Association President Simione Racolo said the FNA will not accept the 1 percent restoration of the pay cut.
The interim cabinet will meet tomorrow morning to make a decision on the revised proposal put forward by the FNA and Bune confirms that they have suggested that the interim government borrow money from the Fiji National Providend Fund to meet their demands.
