Unions are carrying out a very important role in ensuring the fair distribution of wealth in society and elevating unemployment.
These are the words of Interim Labour Minister Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi speaking at the 42nd Biennial Fiji Trade Union Congress meeting in Nadi this afternoon.
Addressing the Congress affiliates, Vayeshnoi said that the unions bring out a decent job for all and adds that the trade unions will have to be more adaptable as time changes.
Vayeshnoi also added that the challenge ahead for the Interim Government is to ensure that whatever policies that now put in place ensure that they work hand-in-hand with the unions.
