The Fiji Taxi Union said the way things look now, fuel prices will continue to increase.
This is after the Prices and Incomes Board (PIB) announced an increase in fuel prices effective from today and as a result, Union General Secretary Rishi Ram said they will be looking at doing a proposal to ask for another increase in taxi fares.
The increased prices are for unleaded fuel will now cost $2.12 a litre an increase of 12c while Diesel will now cost $1.76 a litre an increase of 9c.
Kerosene prices will also increase by 7c to $1.42 while Premix Outboard Fuel will now cost $2.04, an increase of 13c.
The PIB said these increases are due to the increase in crude oil prices as a result of strong demand growth and tightened crude supply around the world.
