After filing a trade dispute with the Ministry of Labour, the Fiji Bank and Finance Sector Union are currently awaiting the Ministry's directive on their next move.

General Secretary, Pramod Rae has confirmed that as of today they are still waiting for correspondence from the Ministry of Labour on the next course of action.

The Acting Interim Minister for Labour, Adi Laufitu Malani had earlier confirmed that now that the Union has filed a trade dispute with the ministry, the formal machinery will now be in place to settle the dispute.

This comes after informal talks between the FNPF and the Union failed to find a resolution.

Late last week saw 200 FNPF workers walk off their jobs in a lightning strike because they had not been paid their Cost of Living Adjustment for the past three years and were not going to be awarded their bonus payments for this year.
