The Post and Telecom Workers Union is still negotiating with Telecom Fiji Limited on their plans to lay off an estimated 170 employees as part of its restructure program.

Union General Secretary Attar Singh said it is too early to say anything on the talks on the redundancy packages, as the company intends to reduce staff numbers.

Telecom Fiji issued a statement saying it will undergo a business restructure in response to the impact of the economic conditions on its business.

TFL confirmed that the restructuring exercise will be undertaken swiftly and will result in some staff redundancies for roles that are no longer needed by the business.
