The Fiji Taxi Union is expected to meet with the Land Transport Authority to discuss the regulation announced by the LTA on taxi meters to be made compulsory.
General Secretary Rishi Ram said the union opposes this move and asked the interim Transport Minister to look into the matter as they believe that the LTA has overlooked it.
Ram said they are opposing the announcement adding that even those taxis operating long distance will have to go by meter.
Fiji Taxi Union is expected to meet LTA on Monday morning.
