Rewa soccer President, Nazeel Buksh has raised serious concerns on Fiji Football Associations decision to suspend its player Iosefo Verevou from all levels of soccer for three years and also fine him $5,000.

Along with Verevou, Ba’s Avneel Kumar and Waisea Yavala, Lautoka’s Samuela Qoro and Kelvin Naidu have also been suspended and fined $5,000 each.

They broke camp during a tour in New Zealand with the Fiji Under 20 soccer team.

This incident took place just weeks before the OFC Under 20 Championship which Fiji won at the ANZ stadium.

Buksh said it is an unfair decision by the Fiji FA Board.

He said Rewa soccer and Verevou had apologized to Fiji FA on Verevou’s misbehavior.

However, Fiji FA President, Rajesh Patel said they cannot entertain players who are committing such offences just before major tournaments.
