Unemployed people, school dropouts and disadvantaged young people are being called on to register for the Fiji Council of Social Services national volunteer centre where they will acquire skills to help them in life.

Project Officer Neil Maharaj said they are now calling for registration in the north which will open next week adding they are also looking for employed people and graduates who can volunteer to mentor and volunteers who are willing to help the community on part time/fulltime basis.

Maharaj said the centre, supported by Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, will provide unemployed people who share a passion for volunteerism with opportunities to make a difference in their community.

He added the centre will assist volunteers to secure employment by equipping them with employability skills, a positive attitude, income generating opportunities and showcasing their arts and talents.

Registration is open for the Northern Division between 6th to 10th April, 2010.
