The General Public is being urged to refrain from throwing rubbish on top of the underground fire hydrants.
The National Fire Authority recently has been facing problems where underground fire hydrants are silted with debris.
Firefighters attended to a fire incident in Raiwai on Saturday where a nearby underground fire hydrant located at Kia street was covered with rubbish.
The fire fighters had to look for another fire hydrant in order to extinguish the fire.
Chief Fire Officer, Tupou Saubulinayau said they are concerned in the manner some people are treating fire hydrants.
