Special Administrator for Suva Chandu Umaria has denied reports that council workers are not doing their job properly.
He made the comment when Fijivillage News raised the issue that some council workers responsible for patching the potholes around the city were seen sitting idle around 3pm on Monday at a particular site.
Umaria said this may have been the practice in the past but he has assured that this has stopped.
Over 10 council workers were also seen sitting around in a shed built for market vendors to wash and clean their produce near the Suva bus stand.
