Natabua High School athletics captain and long distance runner Batinisavu Uluiyata is by far the favorite to win the senior boy’s 200 and 400 metres events of the Coca-Cola Games next week.

Uluiyata, who came second in the Fiji Games 200 metres behind sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro, clocked his personal best of 21.40 seconds.

The 19-year-old’s only threat will be Gospel High School’s sprinter Aaron Powell who clocked 22.17 seconds in 200 metres.

Natabua athletics coach Jovesa Naivalu said they will not depend on their second place finish in the boy’s division last year.

Naivalu said Uluiyata is aiming to finish on a high before leaving Natabua this year.

Meanwhile, Uluiyata’s 400 metres personal best is 48.42 seconds which is the fastest time in the senior boys compared to all the zones.

Some of the top athletes in the Natabua team are Batinisavu Uluiyata, junior boy’s sprinters Tyrone Chambers and James Cox, female captain Lavenia Dickinson and senior boy’s 800 metres runner Iliesa Ratete.

The Natabua team will be traveling down to Suva next Wednesday.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held on the 24th and the 25th of this month at the ANZ stadium.
