The ultimatum given to the Suva City Council by the Interim Minister for Local Government Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi remains and the SCC has only 30 days to clean up the Capital or face action from the Ministry.
When contacted this morning, Vayeshnoi said that the Council is duty bound to the public to have a clean city and his deadline will not be removed.
Suva Lord mayor, Ratu Peni Volavola said he has received the letter from the Interim Minister this morning and he is currently meeting with his officials to decide their next step.
Volavola said they will call a press conference to address the concerns of the Interim Minister later today.
