Vodafone Fiji Bati's top wing at the Rugby League World Cup, Akuila Uate has been ruled out for the next three months.
Uate fractured his ankle while playing against Australia in last night's semifinal and will miss a few matches for the New Castle Knights in the NRL competition.
Fiji Bati team manager Ilaitia Nagau said the injury to Uate is quite serious.
Uate scored a total of 5 tries in the tournament.
Fiji were beaten 52-0 by Australians last night and Australia will now play New Zealand in the final on Saturday at 9pm.
