Keys to the University of the South Pacific's Information and Communication Technology center has been handed over to the institute.

The construction of the two buildings was funded by the Japanese government at a cost of approximately $41.5 million with facilities consisting of computer laboratories, conference rooms and specialized equipment.

Pro Chancellor and Chair USP Council and Minister for Women in Samoa, Honorable Fiame Naomi Mata'afa said given the leadership of USP in digital and technology in the region, the Japan-Pacific ICT center will make significant contributions to the Pacific islands and USP.

Mata'afa said the state of the art Japan-Pacific ICT center will accommodate for USP's entire ICT faculty.
