USP aims to increase senior staffing numbers
That was the revelation of USP Vice Chancellor Doctor Rajesh Chandra at the Graduation today.
Chandra said that with the inclusion well known poet, playwright, film director and academic Vilisoni Hereniko.
He added that with the aim of increasing the number of senior academics, USP will be able to achieve their aim of being known as a institute for world class learning.
The Vice Chancellor expressed joy at the fact that 27 percent of the 823 graduates walked away with post graduate degrees, certificates or diplomas while 26 people had Masters Decrees and four had PhDs.
Apart from the strategic plan to increase the number of senior staff, Chandra added that they are also looking at increasing research projects and also to increase the number of research degrees on offer.
Meanwhile, USP today also officially welcomed their 17th Chancellor the President of the Independent State of Samoa Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi.
