University of the South Pacific students need to know that the increase or decrease of tuition fees depends on inflation.
Registrar Walter Fraser confirmed the Finance Committee has a standard policy in place whereby tuition fees will only be adjusted in accordance with inflation.
Vice Chancellor Rajesh Chandra said while the decrease or increase of tuition fees will be a matter for the Finance Committee, they do have the economic climate in mind.
The New Vice Chancellor on Thursday revealed a substantive pay reduction of 40% for senior management and a pay reduction of 65% for himself, in the University's efforts to help stabilize finances.
Chandra also added courses with low enrollment rates are more likely to be removed as this could also provide funding for research and capital expenditure which the university had failed to provide for in the past years.
