The Vice Chancellor of the University of the South Pacific Doctor Rajesh Chandra is currently meeting with the General Secretary of the USP staff union, Litiana Waqalevu to get an update regarding the strike earlier this morning.
The strike was called off at around 4.20pm this afternoon after the Union decided that they would go back to work tomorrow out of good faith.
Discussions continue this hour.
At around 9 o'clock this morning, 380 workers from the Laucala campus walked off their jobs along with 37 from Lautoka and Labasa at around mid-day today after the Union got no response from the management of the University.
