Day 14 of the London Olympics has seen its share of games glory and disappointment.

A new world record was set by the United States 4 x 100m women’s relay team of 40.82 shattering Germany’s 27-year-old record of 41.37secs.

Meanwhile, Great Britain will miss the men’s Olympic 4x100m relay final after being disqualified in their semi-final following a mess of baton changes.

The world’s fastest man Usain Bolt was out of the first 4 x 100 meter heats today as he is resting for the 4 x 100 meter final tomorrow, needless to say the Jamaican team still won in the first heats, and the United States came out with the fastest overall qualification time of 37.38seconds.

In Basketball it is a USA and Spain Olympic final on Monday with USA defeating Argentina early this morning 109-83 in the second semifinal while Spain beat Russia earlier 67-59.

In other Olympics action, Netherlands successfully defended their women’s Hockey title claiming gold with a 2-0 victory over Argentina.

In football Korea has taken the Bronze medal after beating Japan 2-0 in the bronze medal play off.

Events that will be taking place tomorrow, Mens 4 by 100 meters final at 8am, Women’s 4 by 400 meters final at 7.25am while in football the gold medal match between Brazil and Mexico is at 2am.

Looking at the medal tally, USA is now leading with 41 gold, 26 silver and 27 bronze, China is second with 37 gold, 25 silver and 19 bronze while Great Britain is third with 25 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze.
