US Expresses Regret At Expulsion
In a statement released, the United States Embassy said this act will further erode the Interim Government's international standing and contribute to its isolation both at home and abroad.
However, the US Government hopes the Interim Government will remain engaged with all its regional neighbours and the international community.
The US Government added they believe that all energies should be directed towards the removal of sanctions by expeditiously returning to democracy.
This is after Acting NZ High Commissioner Caroline McDonald was told to leave the country last night by the Interim Government after a travel ban impasse between Fiji and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Stuff.co.nz reports NZ Foreign Minister Murray McCully as saying the New Zealand Government is not going to rush into sending another representative.
McCully is reported to have said that this is not something that can be taken lightly adding you don't just shake hands and get on with things the next day.
