The Global Women's Issues Small Grants Initiative has been launched by the US Embassy which allows organizations to apply for funding if they have worthy projects that promote women's political, economic and social advancement.

The Secretary of State's Office said it works to increase women's and girl's access to education and health care, to combat violence in all forms against women and girls and to ensure that all women's rights are fully integrated with human rights.

The Office said funding under this small grants initiative is limited to $100,000 and women based project initiatives could include education, food security, climate change, gender-based violence, economic opportunity, democracy and political empowerment and legal reform.

The embassy said it welcomes joint proposals based on building and enhancing partnerships between people, within communities and among organizations.

The deadline is Friday the 5th of February.
