The United Nations and the Commonwealth will send a Joint Technical Team to Fiji next week in preparation for the proposed President Political Dialogue Forum.
In a statement the UN confirmed that this follows the decision by both the UN and Commonwealth to accept the request to mediate a political dialogue and the Joint Team will consult with the interim government and key stakeholders.
The Team will develop the modalities for the UN and Commonwealth to jointly mediate an inclusive, independent and time-bound political dialogue process.
The team will consist of Mari Yamashita and Alex Gryzbowski of the UN, Juliet Solomon, and Sabhita Raju of the Commonwealth and will be in the country from next Monday the 9th till February 14th.
