Interim Prime Minister and Army Commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has been informed by the United Nations during his recent visit to Iraq that the UN has reviewed the policy of recruiting personal bodyguards for UN representatives in Iraq.

Military Operations spokesperson, Lt Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho said majority of the Fijian soldiers used to be recruited as personal bodyguards in Iraq a few years ago, but this year, the UN has informed them that the policy has been changed and the number of Fijian bodyguards will be reduced to include other member countries who are part of the UN.
